As I’ve said before, Kendo and other Japanese martial arts practice all year round in a wood floor dojo (or gym) that has no temperature control.
In other words, it’s cold!!! (さむい!!!!)

Our 2LDK apartment tends to get very cold in the winter.
I know you’re saying ‘Well, duh, it’s winter!’ but no, I mean these apartments take cold to a whole ‘nother level. The reason being Japaneese apartments aren’t as well insulated unless you live in the even colder northern areas. The second reason being there is no central heating. Continue reading

So, while we were in Tokyo we went with some friends to the Tokyo Comic Market, or as it is so lovingly called “Comiket” (コミケット).

New Years in Japan is atually one of the biggest shopping seasons of the year. Not only because most people have the day off, but because a lot of companies are clearing out their inventories so they hold huge sales.

A couple of months ago I went to Kobe. Besides the being the city that had revived that magical feeling of being in Japan, they have the best burgers I’ve had in Japan.

With the temperature drop, came cold season. At the university, I’m talking to 20-40 students a day, so you can imagine my odds of catching a cold increasing.
I’ve already been sick twice :-/.
