Having Christmas in Japan is expected to be different, but it’s also a bit frustrating if you want a more traditional Christmas.
Why? My reason for feeling so… because Christmas in Japan stops on Dec. 24th. Continue reading

Japanese Christmas Songs to Add to Your Christmas Playlist
I know it’s the day before Christmas in America (or Christmas Day in Japan) but here are some Japanese language songs that you should add to your playlist to truly make your Christmas complete:
5) クリスマスキャロルの頃には 「Kurisumasu Kyaroruno koroni wa」
Christmas Carol no koro ni wa by Junichi Inagaki
Your first thought might be “Wow, this song is too 80’s” but if you have Wham!’s “Last Christmas on your playlist, then this will compliment it nicely.
4) 恋人がサンタクロース 「Koibito ga Santa Kuroosu」 Continue reading

Sunday Summary, Dec 2nd, 2018
Hey guys! Sorry for the long silence, but I was very busy studying* for the JLPT. But here’s a quick brief on some things I’ve been doing:
What I’m using to study:
The Preparatory Course for The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)
If you study Japanese, the JLPT is essentially the standard used to determine how well you know the language. Each level comes with new vocabulary, grammar, and social situations that the test-taker should be familiar with to live life in Japan.
Truth be told, I think the vocabulary section is a little skewed (The word “Japan” is a mid-level word?), but grammar is what really hurts.
This book goes over the most common grammar examples, without throwing too many new words at you, so you can follow the examples pretty well. It is all in Japanese though, so don’t pick this up unless you are a good ways into your study and are truly serious about it.
Manga I’m Reading:
Patlabor
I saw the anime movie for this when I was a child, and though it didn’t have giant robots fighting in outerspace with giant swords, I still enjoyed it.
I’m just getting started, but I have a feeling I’ll still like the story after all these years.
What I’m eating:
Indian Curry
Sometimes eating foreign food in a different country can get you a more authentic taste.
The thing is, there are more Indian restaurants here than burger joints, so I’ve actually had more curry and naan in the past two years, than I’ve had burgers and pizza combined.
On top of that, one of the places here serves Naan pizza!
I’ll be back soon to talk about more of our adventures (Including USJ) and write more comics.
In the meantime, STAY AWESOME!
