A couple of months ago I went to Kobe. Besides the being the city that had revived that magical feeling of being in Japan, they have the best burgers I’ve had in Japan.

With the temperature drop, came cold season. At the university, I’m talking to 20-40 students a day, so you can imagine my odds of catching a cold increasing.
I’ve already been sick twice :-/.

It’s well into Fall, and the vending machines have switched from all cool drinks (つめたい| tsumetai) to warm drinks (あたたかい|atatakai).
I lament my energy drink, but on the bright side I get hot coffee.

What do you know about dancing with umbrellas?

Not as much as Tottori City in Tottori-ken, Japan. The Shan Shan Matsuri (鳥取しゃんしゃん祭) is Tottori’s biggest festival. Every year during Obon week, around 4,000 people line the streets dressed in summer festival clothes (usually Happi or Kimono) and do Kasa-odori, choreographed dances with umbrellas… for 3 hours!
